Abstract: | Traditionally, face-to-face learning has been applied as a teaching delivery method by most of the educational institutions in Vietnam. However, since the unanticipated outbreak of COVID-19, the majority of universities had to shift the teaching delivery method from traditional to e-learning. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influences of e-learning on learners' intrinsic motivation and their self-learning ability in learning English for Financial Sector Modules 1, 2, and 3. The research was conducted with 100 respondents, and quantitative methodology was used for data analysis. The results illustrate that e-learning negatively affects students' intrinsic motivation, but learners' self-learning ability responds variously depending on the components of e-learning. Following the results, the researchers propose the solutions respective to the factors in e-learning in the hope of contributing to the enhancement of undergraduates' successful academic accomplishment in studying English for the Financial Sector Modules 1, 2, and 3 at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH University). |
