Abstract: | Today, science, technology, and digitization have developed dramatically in the world's integration. Although people have more opportunities to study, work and develop themselves, they also have to face significant changes in the global job market. Because machines and AI are gradually replacing humans in many fields and activities in production and daily life, the professional requirements for workers have also increased since then, especially in digital skills. Therefore, the study has carried out the topic "THE DIGITAL COMPETENCE FOR GLOBAL CITIZENS: DEFINING ITS IMPACTS ON YOUNG PEOPLE’S SUITABILITY FOR THE OCCUPATION WITHIN THE ECONOMICS FIELD IN HO CHI MINH CITY" to help young people realize the importance of these skills and mindsets about working skills. This also determines their influence on the suitability of young people for jobs in the economic sector in general, and young people in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, contributing to their orientation and giving young people an overview of the requirements for the digital skills of today's job market as a prerequisite to becoming an exemplary global citizen. The study conducted qualitative, quantitative research method and collected sample data including 325 valid responses. The data were then analyzed and tested using IBM Spss Statistics ver 26 and IBM Spss Amos ver 24 software. The study results showed that the digital skills identified all have a significant positive effect on the suitability of the candidate for employment in the economic field. From there, the study proposes several measures to help young people expand and develop digital skills, increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese workers in the integration period and contribute to the orientation of Vietnam's education policy for the development of a global citizen-oriented human resource in digital competence. For individuals, the most important thing is to be self-disciplined, progressive, eager to learn, but they need to understand how to learn and the importance and application of digital skills to improve themselves actively and effectively. In the process, the State and businesses can make it easier for young people to develop their digital skills. |
