Legal challenges from the perspective of copyright for works created with deepfakes technology

Abstract

In the era of technological advancement, AI has become a topic of research in various fields, including law. On the other hand, social media videos and short videos have become a trend in communication and content creation for many individuals and organizations. In this context, "deepfake videos" are rapidly spreading and reaching a wide audience, highlighting the "hot" nature of AI deepfakes as numerous videos with both negative and positive messages are being disseminated. The emergence of deepfake videos has sparked debates related to intellectual property rights. Therefore, the topic "Legal Challenges from the Perspective of Copyright for Works Created through Deepfake Technology" has emerged with the aim of researching theoretical issues related to deepfake technology and the necessity of addressing challenges in recognizing copyright for works created through this technology. Additionally, the authors also focus on researching, analyzing the practical applications, and the extent of the prevalence of this technology globally to establish a necessary research foundation for the topic. Based on their arguments and comments, the research group confidently evaluates and provides some recommendations to address the challenges posed by the research, which could serve as suggestions for positive amendments to intellectual property law and other related laws to protect the rights of various stakeholders.
