Abstract

The project aims to understand and determine the official impact of dividends on profit management behavior of enterprises listed on the Vietnamese stock market. In the context of economic change, understanding the factors influencing decisions about profit management behavior is critical to making effective and sustainable financial decisions. Using quantitative methods, this study applies four basic models in tabular data models to analyze the correlations and effects of dividend policies on profit management behavior. This study analyzes in the context when companies face the problem of representation costs, financial constraints based on the study of Hussain and Akbar (2022) and the expansion of research in the case of Covid19. This study is unique in that it shows that dividend payments and profit management behaviors are primarily related through two channels – information asymmetry and the issue of representation costs at the company.
