Over the last few decades, the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has had a profound impact on the evolution of all vocations in society. AI has had a significant impact on numerous industrial areas, particularly chatbot technology. ChatGPT, which stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is a chatbot created by the American company OpenAI and introduced in November 2022. ChatGPT is able to communicate with users and answer all of their questions, regardless of field. As a result, ChatGPT has become a global trend, with millions of people using it. Also, university students are potential users; students have an intense desire for information and also have a basic understanding of how to use technology. Considering the popularity of ChatGPT as well as the lack of research related to this topic for students in Ho Chi Minh City, the authors decided to conduct research on the topic: “FACTORS INFLUENCING UNIVERSITY STUDENT’S INTENTION TO USE CHATGPT FOR EDUCATION IN HO CHI MINH CITY”. The topic relies on theoretical underpinnings synthesized and identified by the author group, which contain the following five elements: Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PE), Hedonic Motivation (HM), Social Influence (SI), and Perceived Risks (PR). The team collected data from a sample of 253 students from Ho Chi Minh City universities to conduct a scale reliability study, which included Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, EFA exploratory factor analysis, and scale reliability analysis, regression analysis with SPSS software. After the investigation, the authors excluded certain observed variables that were not statistically significant. In addition, research has shown that Social Influence (SI) and Perceived Risks (PR) did not affect the intention to use ChatGPT, hence these two factors were eliminated from the research model. Based on the final results, the authors conclude the factors influencing Ho Chi Minh City students' intention to use ChatGPT and give specific recommendations for each element, assisting ChatGPT application manufacturers and ChatGPT enterprises in making more appropriate and quality changes.en_US
