This study was conducted to investigate factors affecting mental stability of UEH students, the effect of mental stability on academic performance of UEH students, and the moderating role of social media. A 420 valid sample was used in this study to assess the influence of adaptability, life regime, perception, finance concern, and relationship on mental stability; the impact of mental stability on academic performance; how social media moderates the correlation between mental stability and academic performance. PLS – SEM was conducted, then the results showed that all 8 factors with 24 observed variables were accepted. For the multivariate regression test, there were 3 factors positively affecting mental stability consisting of: adaptability, perception, and relationship. Social media moderates the relationship between mental stability and academic performance. The findings of this study have provided a fresh perspective, assisting students in their efforts to get by university lives. Moreover, I also suggest several applications of social media in mental stability as well as academic performance.en_US
