Abstract: | The shift towards more flexible, effective, active, and student-centered teaching strategies has been the driving agenda of Higher Education (HE) of late. Consequently, a number of practitioners and researchers have attempted alternative forms of teaching and learning based on an active learning philosophy to bring more efficiency during the teaching and learning process. This paper aims to introduce an ecological approach to flexible blended language learning with the use of the gamified learning platform Classcraft. This platform could promote active learning and individualised learning both inside and outside the physical classrooms. It also could yield helpful findings on students’ attitudes and performance as well as mitigate the disadvantages of limited time allocation of the curriculum. |
